Emotional Intelligence

I recognize the emotions of my friends and colleagues very quickly and always try to solve any problems in groups.

My personal experience is that most group issues arise from lack of communication or misunderstandings.

"A chain is only as strong as its weakest link." is a well-known saying whose importance for teams is often underestimated.

Performance

There are always tasks in life for which you do not have to motivate yourself. In the best case, these activities outweigh the professional environment.

I enjoy taking on tasks that are a challenge to grow and I look forward to tasks that are less challenging to regain strength and energy for new challenges.

Curiosity

My willingness to perform is also based on my curiosity. In accordance to my motto in life "Learning is like rowing against the current, and once you stop, you drive back." by Benjamin Britten, I am always motivated to learn new things.

Analytical and conceptual competence

For me, I have the approach of penetrating facts and then mentally creating a compact summary for myself. This ability helps to recognize relationships and to draw the right conclusions.

MS Office

Word | Excel | PowerPoint

Knowing the MS Office Package is for me a basic requirement for technically oriented occupations. The combination of applications brings a good base to sorting, organizing and presenting facts.

Adobe

InDesign | Illustrator | Photoshop | Acrobat | Premiere | AfterEffects

For my own interest in film making, I am familiar with the Adobe programs. It's great to be able to enhance movies with graphical effects and give the finishing touches on photos. However, I also work with vector graphics to create infographics.

Data acquisition and evaluation (R, SPSS, Matlab)

R (https://www.r-project.org/)

Statistically evaluating data is the consequence of studies and experiments carried out. R offers many possibilities to extract, evaluate and display data.

SPSS

Opensource (R) vs. commercial product (SPSS). These two products not only differ in their operation, but also in the results. For me it is important to master both variants in order to make the right choice for the evaluation of the data in case of doubt.

Matlab

As part of my master's thesis, I also became familiar with Matlab. The data was recorded using a tool written in Matlab and was then filtered with a handwritten tool in Matlab.

Snap - Simulation and Neuroscience Application Platform

The Simulation and Neuroscience Application Platform (SNAP) is part of the ERICA real-time experiment environment.

I realized the experiment of my master thesis in SNAP. SNAP is based on Phyton as a scripting language and uses the Panda3d game engine.

LaTeX

After bad experiences with early versions of Word for thesis work, I wrote my master thesis in LaTeX. Both variants have advantages and disadvantages.

In addition, I have basic knowledge of C#, XML and ActionScript
