The fascination for opera was recommended to me all my life, but it did not reach me until a few years ago.
The "Komische Oper" in Berlin, however, has awoken the fire in me. Exciting productions that have already given me many beautiful evenings with lots of charm, effort and humor.
Here you will find the two productions that have particularly moved me lately:
A spectacle staged by the director Barrie Kosky himself.
The staging acted like a celebration in which the audience took part. With scenic scenes, which were amplified by light effects, this production invited to dream about long-forgotten legendary times.
The barber of Siviglia is known in many classical versions, but the "Komische Oper" also enchanted this opera. It has been translated into modern times with a lot of wit and humor. - Opera does not always have to be serious, especially in the "Komischen" (comic) opera.
The "Komische Oper" offers a career springboard for young singers and musicians. For this reason, one sees again and again fresh outstanding singers and musicians. I was particularly impressed by the voice of Dominik Köninger (in the role of Figaro).
